Consequence system

Rockstar’s stated answer to Red Dead Redemption 2’s Honor system — context-aware rather than a single good/bad slider. The on-screen icon is the Crime Report Symbol.

Police

Six stars, and a rework underneath: police track six independent descriptors — face, clothes, crew, car, CCTV and gun — with hollow stars for a partial identification.

Economy

Three separate pots — bank account, cash, and duffel bag. Dirty cash must go through a fence, and deposits are ATM-only.

Health, Stamina and Focus, shown top-left. A San Andreas-style attribute layer sits underneath, with per-activity buffs.

Vehicles

Vehicles use fuel and electric vehicles recharge. Gas stations have a menu with separate refuel and repair prices.

System · protagonist control

Control passes between Jason and Lucia through a zoom-out and zoom-in across the map, shown in the Extended Look. Switching also happens inside some missions, though not all of them allow it.

System · combat

Targeting distinguishes lethal points from joint markers, letting you wound or disarm instead of kill. Leaving people alive scores better on the Criminal Profile than killing them.

System · vehicles

Cars are tiered by how hard they are to steal: older vehicles open to a slim-jim minigame on the right stick, newer ones need a key cloner, and some tools only become available as the story progresses. A phone app lists a vehicle's value and its lock, alarm and tracker status before you touch it.

System · relationship

A bar tracks the relationship between the two protagonists, raised by optional contact such as texting and checking in. Main missions on their own do not move it, and Rockstar says it grants no combat benefit.

System · side content

Twenty categories of free-roam activity appear in the Extended Look, from water sports and racing to bar and store interiors. Several feed the attribute layer, with basketball shown awarding a Focus increase.
